As the name suggests, this is just one guy or girl working alone. It's the most flexible and independent arrangement, though limited in what it can achieve since it's just one person. You don't have to report to anyone (except the IRS) and you can pay yourself or not. A sole proprietor is fully and personally liable for any debts or lawsuits against him or her.
